Member Event: Me and My Medical Records

Me and My Medical Records

The relationship between patient and doctor requires skill on both sides. In this interactive online course, we will examine what makes a mutually respectful relationship and tools to develop that relationship. Explore how keeping and understanding our medical records is critical to that relationship and our ability to self-advocate with the medical system. That understanding how to effectively communicate with the doctor can lead to better outcomes and feeling like we are in a mutually respectful working relationship.

Learning Objectives:

  • Name 3 ways for starting conversations with providers.
  • Describe techniques for asking questions to obtain information about the Why.
  • List 3 reasons why having access to and understanding of our medical records is important.
  • List 3 tools for developing a mutually respectful relationship.
